Choral

Bach Choir of Pittsburgh is holding auditions 8/21 and 8/25, or by appt.  All voice parts will be heard, with a critical need for 1st sopranos and tenors.  Don't miss this opportunity to join a dynamic group gaining critical acclaim throughout the region.  Be part of our exciting season (Sept - May).  For details, contact Nancy, nbthomp@city-net.com

Location:

Checco Studio, 3rd Floor of the Purnell Drama School, Carnegie Mellon University
Purnell is one building deep onto the campus from the corner of Forbes and Morewood.

There is a free lot for parking in the evenings on Forbes, half a block down from Morewood toward Oakland on the right.

What to Prepare:

New Members:

  • You will sing any piece of your choice. Please bring piano accompaniment with you
  • There will also be a short sight-reading and other ear training demonstration requirement
  • If interested in the core, please prepare two pieces, one in a foreign language
  • All pieces must be memorized
  • You will need ten minutes

Returning/Re-Auditioning Members:

  • You will sing from the most recent concert you performed in from the 2006-2007 season:
  • There will also be a short sight-reading and other ear training demonstration requirement
  • You will need ten minutes

Core Singers

  • You will sing two pieces of your choice, one being in a foreign language. No musical theatre or pop selections.
  • There will also be sight-singing and other ear training demonstration requirements
  • All pieces must be memorized
  • You will need ten minutes
