The World of the Poet
Tuesday, January 26 - 7:00pm
Rodef Shalom Congregation, 4905 Fifth Avenue, Oakland
Through the ages the collision and collaboration of spoken words and music have combined to create a whole greater than the sum of their parts. The Bach Choir will explore the new music of Pittsburgh composers Nancy Galbraith, Andrew Kohn and Scott Wasserman in a series of in-house workshops. These workshops have resulted from the Bach Choir's response to the reality of the economic times in which we live. THERE WILL NOT BE A CULMINATING PUBLIC CONCERT. Instead, the Bach Choir will conduct a series of workshops of local composers who have explored meaningful texts from their collaborators. The final workshop will include an informal performance of the composers represented through these workshops. All season subscribers will be invited to this capstone event.
