Bernstein, Bach and The Beatles

They rocked our very existence. These distinct musical artists all lived extraordinary lives and created enduring bodies of work. They were each revered as innovators and “rock stars” of their generations. This season, the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh celebrates these timeless rock stars.

As a composer, conductor, educator and humanitarian, Leonard Bernstein shattered boundaries in his life and career. In 2018, performing arts organizations around the world are celebrating the 100th birthday of this iconic artist. Bach experimented with well-tempered tunings, dissonance and influences from abroad. His innovations were endless, as is the catalogue of music that has been collected for us to explore.
