Choir Registration: 2020-2021 Virtual Season
Virtual Welcome to the Bach Choir’s 2020-2021 Virtual Season. Of course, if it becomes safe to perform in person, we will! But for now, it’s a big adventure – all new and different! We hope you will join us on this virtual journey.
Our 2020-2021 season includes:
BCP Virtual Choir Series
Three virtual choir events featuring members of the Bach Choir, each including zoom masterclasses, rehearsals and a launch event.
- Virtual Summer Sing 2020 held in July/August for Bach Choir members and others interested in participating in a virtual choir experience. The virtual choir video of Freedom’s Plow by Rollo Dilworth will be launched on the BCP website and shared on social media in Sep 2020.
- Virtual Holiday Event in early December, featuring In the Bleak Mid-Winter arr. by Gustav Holst and Samachti B’omrim Li, by Charles Osborne.
- Virtual Premiere Performance of Shout, Joy by Thomas W. Douglas in Mar 2021.
Starting on Tuesday, September 22 the choir will meet weekly via Zoom from 7:30 to 8:30pm for a lively session to rehearse virtual choir pieces with Thomas Douglas, develop vocal technique with Jon Erik Schreiber and sight-singing skills with Ben Filippone.
Important Dates – Fall 2020
Tuesday, September 22 – First Zoom rehearsal, followed by Zoom rehearsals every Tuesday
Tuesday, September 29 – Early Bird Dues Deadline
Tuesday, October 6 – Dues Payment Deadline
Tuesday, November 3 – Election Day, NO REHEARSAL preliminary submission of virtual choir pieces
Friday, November 20 – Final submission deadline
Monday, November 24 to Tuesday, January 5 – Holiday Break

Dues and Registration
Regular member dues = $95 ($85 if paid by September 29, 2020)
Senior [65+] / Student dues = $75 ($65 if paid by September 29, 2020)
A 4% service charge is automaticly applied to all payments made online. Members will also have the option to pay dues by check.
Our virtual season will also include:
BCP Presentation Series
Full-length, archive performances presented online and enhanced with commentary, interviews and archive video and photography. The series will include:
Smoke and Steel by Nancy Galbraith in Oct 2020, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff in Feb 2021, and a concert of varied solos by members of the Bach Choir in Apr/May.
Tuesdays with Thomas
10-15min videos with Artistic Director Thomas Douglas, including archive performances, interviews, and commentary. 21 episodes to date. To be broadcast bi-weekly throughout the season.
A unique choral music event and fundraiser produced in collaboration with choir colleagues, streamed live in Jan 2021. The game show (title TBD) will feature Thomas Douglas and fellow artistic directors competing to answer questions on all aspects of choral music.
